🧹 How to Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

Sometimes clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve browsing issues. Here’s a step-by-step guide for popular browsers.

Restart Browsers after clearing the cache for the changes to take effect.

Clearing cookies will log you out of websites. Make sure you remember your passwords.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

  3. Navigate to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.

  4. Under Time range, select All time.

  5. Check:

    • Cookies and other site data

    • Cached images and files

  6. Click Clear data.


Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.

  2. Click the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner.

  3. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security.

  4. Under Cookies and Site Data, click Clear Data.

  5. Select:

    • Cookies and Site Data

    • Cached Web Content

  6. Click Clear.

If you only want to clear recent history, use Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (Mac).


Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge.

  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

  3. Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services.

  4. Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.

  5. Select Time range: Choose All time.

  6. Tick the boxes for:

    • Cookies and other site data

    • Cached images and files

  7. Click Clear now.


Safari (Mac)

  1. Open Safari.

  2. Click Safari in the top-left menu and select Preferences.

  3. Go to the Privacy tab.

  4. Click Manage Website Data.

  5. To clear all, click Remove All.

  6. Confirm by clicking Remove Now.
