Screening Board Members Against Sanctions Lists
If your grant collects the names of board members or leadership, Optible can screen each person against sanctions and denied-persons lists and flag anyone who comes back as a possible match. This checks named people, not organisations — for checking an applicant organisation itself, see Automatic Registry Verification.
Setting it up
Add a Board Members (Sanctions) field to your application form. It collects each person's role, full name, date of birth and nationality, for up to 25 people.
Map that field to sanctions screening in your form settings. A roster field that is not mapped is just a table on the form — nobody is screened until it is mapped.
This does not run unless you set it up. There is no default sanctions check the way there is a default ABN check.
What happens when an application comes in
Once mapped, every named person is screened automatically as part of assessment. Each comes back as one of:
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| Clear | No match found. No action needed. |
| Flagged | A possible match was found and needs a reviewer's decision. |
A flagged person raises a critical warning on the application, the same way a failed registry check does.
Reviewing a flagged match
Open the application's sanctions tab. Every screened person is listed with their status. Select a flagged result to see the match detail: which list it came from and how close the match was. Record your own decision and a note against that person — this is kept as part of the application's record, along with who made the decision and when.
Nothing else on the application is blocked while a decision is pending.
